About Us
Nathan Michael has been working with lampwork blown glass for over 20 years. Growing up in a creative environment and traveling extensively, he developed an early appreciation for various art forms. His passion for glassblowing led him to an apprenticeship in the hills of central New York, where he spent years refining his craft. In 2007, he opened his own studio, dedicating himself to mastering technique and exploring the artistic possibilities of glass. Today, his work reflects a deep connection to nature, incorporating organic forms, rich textures, and luminous colors.
Nathan primarily works with Borosilicate (Pyrex) glass, known for its durability and clarity. He also incorporates Dichroic glass, as well as 24k gold and .999 fine silver, to create pieces with remarkable depth and brilliance. Using a base-mounted oxygen and propane torch, he meticulously shapes each piece before kiln-firing and annealing it for lasting strength.
